After taking the tour and going through the aws management console on Amazon, I am very impressed with the direction amazon going with a clear vision. I am not sure other company have the same vision or direction or advance in Cloud Computing area.

The most impressive things about aws are its user-friendliness and simplicity with no learning curve. These things are common sense but are often missing from most of the software providers as of today.

The amazing thing is that you can create your instance within a minute and have installed everything you want by choosing from thousands of the pre-configured public AMI. In order terms, you can reduce atleast one month work to only few minutes.

For example, one of popular AMI, called Java Web Starter, sets up painless AMI of
Fedora Core 8, 32-bit architecture, Java 5 EE, Tomcat, Apache, and MySQL for you. Within few mintue, you have the working java environment for you. And now you can focus on building the application instead of setting up infrastructure and installing all the above one by one.
